Bahá’í Community of
Douglas County, Colorado

Who we are
Rooted in Faith, Grounded in Community

The Bahá’í Faith has been present in Colorado for more than a century, growing quietly through friendship, service, and shared spiritual life. As families made Douglas County their home, a local community naturally emerged.

Today, Bahá’ís across Douglas County work alongside neighbors and friends to foster spiritual growth, strengthen families, and contribute to the common good.
Given our interest in the well-being of all, our activities are oriented towards unity and service, following clear principles yet not presuming to have an immediate answer to every problem.

A Spiritual Path Rooted in Unity

Bahá’ís believe in the oneness of God, the oneness of humanity, and the oneness of religion. Across history, divine Messengers such as Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, and Bahá’u’lláh have guided humanity’s spiritual and social development.

Bahá’u’lláh, the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith, taught that humanity has now reached a stage where unity is not only possible, but essential for our collective future. Central teachings include:

Unity of the human family
Equality of women and men
Harmony of science and religion
Justice as a guiding principle of society
Elimination of all forms of prejudice
Bahá’í life encourages prayer, independent search for truth, and service to humanity as expressions of faith in action.

“So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth."
— Bahá'u'lláh
Introduction to Bahá’í Beliefs
“Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving-kindness for all who may cross your path”
— Bahá'u'lláh
